I Love You Anyway

After a supposed death threat on my life from one of my closest friends, this song couldn’t help but be written. I was 15 years old and in the process of learning how the difference between high school and junior high is bigger than simply one grade’s difference. I was losing a best friend to the politics of high school, and it hurt. I simply wanted my friend to know that even though I was very upset and hurt, my love for them still masked all my anger. I could not touch the word “hate” simply because my love for them wouldn’t let me.
